19 Dec 2013 CHURCH TO SHINE BRIGHTER THANKS TO LOCAL COMPANY

Llandybie based manufacturer Morgan Marine Ltd, has donated a custom built LED illuminated cross and additional decorations for Llandybie Parish Church to help brighten up the Christmas tree outside the Church.

As well as designing and manufacturing the decorative items, the team at the GRP manufacturing company also helped to install the new items and decorate the tree.

Morgan Marine Ltd has been a part of the local community since 1965, where it manufactures GRP and steel products from its 9-acre Llandybie site.

The company employs over 200 members of staff who together nominate charities and organisations to receive donations from the company’s charity fund. So far in 2013 the company has donated in excess of £7,000 to local good causes.

Speaking of Morgan Marine’s donation, Reverend Ann Howells says: “The people at Morgan Marine have been most generous to our church this Christmas.

“They have installed a newly designed cross and new lights to decorate our tree and gave generously of their time to help us decorate it.  They have shown kind support to our Church and village at this giving time of year and have demonstrated the true meaning of Christmas by giving their time to help others.”

Martyn Ingram, Group Director at Morgan Marine Ltd said: “We were delighted to have been able to help the church and its members this Christmas. The church is at the centre of life in the community and as a local company with many of our staff living in the community and neighbouring areas it is very important to help out where we can and especially at this time of year.”
